OST/Music Licensing.

Music is an important aspect of this film. As well as an original musical number, which you can hear a demo of on the player below, I envision music playing a key role in differentiating between the vibrance and purity of the nightclub and the despair of Lydia's lonely flat.

What music is used is obviously budget dependent. I have compiled a playlist (via Spotify) and music that I think would suit different themes and scenes within the film. These are predominantly made up of popular songs, but by artists whose music should be attainable even with a smaller budget size. Alternatively, I think it could be possible to achieve similar results by using music by upcoming and undiscovered bands, particularly from the North West.

Another idea I had was to have a live female-fronted band playing laid back (live-lounge vibes) cover songs, such as ones found in the playlist below. I am continuously adding to the playlist, and have no set criteria (such as era or style) when thinking of what songs would work incredibly well for certain moments.

As mentioned previously, the player below plays a demo of the track 'Feeling' that appears on page 44 of the screenplay. It is the moment when Lydia explains meeting Eliza to Death who compares the feeling to one you might find in an old movie. For my featurette 'Buses' I wrote and recorded a full OST to accompany the film, which won Best Score/OST at the Focus Film Festival.
